Our Little Blue House.

We decided to repaint our house.
I thought the hardest part was choosing the color.
I was wrong. It takes a lot of time, manpower and patience to paint.
We had help all the way from Iowa! We used a spray gun and that was the fastest part. I went to work at 8:00am and by the time I got back at noon, it was done!
"All we need is the trim."
Well, that took 5-6 hours.
See that green part at the top? We wondered how we were gonna get up there...
(I spy baby)
 This is how.
Everyone worked on the trim. Luckily Baby went down for a decent nap and I was able to pitch in a tiny bit.
When she was awake, she spent a lot of time supervising...
The chimney was the hardest part.

Before.

After.

Baking with Baby.

I always dreamed of baking with my kids.
I imagined that Sunday nights would be dedicated to baking goodies for the week. I imagined that we would pick out a recipe and we'd be excited to try a new recipe.
Well, I thought I would give it a go. She seems a little but young but her curiosity is so big!
I set up a chair and we went at it.

I opened the bags and let her pour it in.
Then I measured out the water and let her pour it in. Etc..
She did not want to hold the mixer but laughed at seeing it spin.
Then I let her put the liners in the pans.
I showed her that I was
going to fill them and let her point to the one she wanted filled. She was so cute, taking her time to pick one.
This is her trying to decide which one to fill next.

I would fill the one she picked and asked which was next. The process was much longer than would normally be but we were not rushed for time..
Look how fun she thought this was. LOL.

Then she got a lesson in patience.
(The stove does not get hot outside and its locked, in case you were worried ;))

This is how I feel too!
(she was whispering "cakes")
We waited until they cooled and I iced them.
Then....the sprinkles!
I put a few cupcakes in a bowl to catch the sprinkles and let her grab sprinkles and throw them on!

This picture makes it seem like it was nice and clean.
It was not.
This is where it got a little out of control!
Who doesn't get excited about sprinkles, though!

Reaping the benefits of her hard work!
And her first cupcake mustache!

Overall, it was just as I imagined.
We also practiced counting, colors, and of course, patience!
I hope she enjoys it as the years go by. I'll have to look for healthier recipes if this is gonna be a regular deal but this was literally a dream come true!

Better Weather.

We are so grateful for changing weather.
We are in the 80s most mornings and afternoons.
This means a lot of outdoor time. We are slowly creating a play place. We found this sandbox for $5 at a garage sale. She likes it okay. She keeps saying, "Mess!"
So....I don't know where to go from there.

She is brave enough to start exploring the backyard. She spends a lot of time just walking around.

She has mastered the steps and is VERY proud!
She also enjoys the rocks. Throwing. Gathering. Pouring.
We play peek-a-boo, which she calls "See you!"
We also ride around in her wagon and play in her house.
I'm so glad for the beginning of Fall!

Memorial Day Weekend.

With a long weekend, I wanted to something but with Neil holed up studying so hard, we really couldnt make it far. Reyna and I decided to take a random IKEA trip to fix up our toys!

We got there too early. It doesn't open until 10 so we got  her first all fruit and vegetable, no sugar added, smoothie. She liked it!
then we spent some time waiting around and playing at the outlets mall.

Look at that grin. She looks like her Papa.

We did our usual Sunday adventures.
Monday we headed out to the park pretty early to avoid the heat.
This is a BIG playground and she managed just fine. She mastered the slide by herself and can climb up the stairs and rock wall.  We spent a good hour there and then headed to Magnolia Market for birthday goodies for Grandma ;)

We napped hard that afternoon and I guess she wasn't done running.
Good form, girl!

We managed to stay busy and happy. We have so many projects coming up and lots of guests in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned!
