Paper Art Pt. 2

Before Valentine's Day, I posted my first rendition of paper cutting.
Well, here is my second try.

I actually got this idea from PINTEREST.
This is the original.

We celebrate Valentine's Day by making or doing something for eachother.
I usually make something and this year Neil wrote and performed a song for me.
It was a good day.

Time Out.

Sorry for the blogging haitus.
We have been dealing with this

 Our pipe burst.
Also, our internet went our for 1 week.
But I think I can get back on track.

Cupcakes.

At work we held a "Valentines Day Sweet Healthy Treat Special". Coworkers had to make a healthy treat to share and they did SOOO well! We had a Low Fat Lemonade Pie, Low Sugar Flan, Fruit in Clouds, Sweet Potato Empanadas, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Pineapple & Coconut Parfaits, and 7up Cupcakes. These cupcakes were really good! If it was a contest it would have won. The maker got the recipe from a pin I posted on Pinterest :) They were go good I decided to post the recipe in case you are looking for a tasty, healthy recipe.

The cupcakes were so moist, light, and only 160 calories! Plus, there are only 2 ingredients!!

-One box of cake mix (the moist kind is best)
-12 oz can of Diet 7 up
Replace all ingredients on package with 12oz Diet 7-up and bake as directed.
That is all.

Let me know if you try it.

DIY Papel Picaso.

Papel Picaso is a form of paper cutting that I adore.

So, I thought I would try my hand at it. I saw a Valentine's idea and went for it.
First, draw your picture. The trick is to make sure that everything is connected to something. Don't worry to much about pencil marks. They can be erased at the end.

Then, take a precision blade and cut everything out.
This whole page took about 30 minutes to cut.
I put it in an IKEA frame and Voila!
A fun, personalized gift for mom and dad!

I think I will try another design soon.
(hint: check back soon)

Out with Old.

It's finally time to say good-bye.
I have these pair of running shoes that I love. Literally. I have had them since I was in high school.
They are so comfortable and held up for so long.
Many shoes have come and gone in the last few years but none compare to these.

I realized that they made it through college, belize, and some country life so it is no surprise that they are very worn. The soles are almost nonexistent and there are literally holes in them - 4 holes!

I got new shoes last year for my birthday but they did not get the job done and I was so happy that I didn't get rid of my old ones but this year...its done...almost.

While birthday shopping I found some new ones and I'm obviously excited about them enough to blog about it :)

And they seem to be working so far! Honestly, I tried to stay away from pink but they were so comfortable and not in any other color. I have NEVER worn PUMAS for fitness but I'm glad I tried.
As far as comfort goes, I like cushion under my feet so these beat out 12 other pairs I tried on!

Maybe I will finally throw the old ones out...maybe...

J-Lo in Manhattan.

Jennifer Lopez in Manhattan.
That was the clue that gave it away.
See, my birthday is soon and Neil ordered my gift online. I think as a way to ease my anxiousness, he decided to give me clues each day until I guessed right or my birthday got here...which ever came first.
Day 1 clue: Will Smith
Day 2 clue: It happens in November and February
Day 3 clue: Jennifer Lopez in Manhattan

Immediately I said, "Maid? Did you get me maid service?" (Jennifer Lopez starred in 'Maid in Manhattan')
"You can't put a maid in a box", he said.
Or can you?????
As I thought more about it, I figured it out.

A Robocop vaccum.

Its actually called an iRobot and it is amazing.

It works really well and gets under the sofa, around the chairs, under cabinets, etc. It is especially for pet homes. I am so excited and can't wait to use it again.

In case you are wondering, I did not ask for it but I am definitely not complaining :) He thought of it on his own and has since admitted that it is his way of helping around the house. I suppose that's ok  :)
