happy 25th Birthday Neil!

We spent the afternoon celebrating the birthday of a great man!
He turned 25 today and we celebrated this afternoon.
We started with a pizza dinner then moved on to his birthday game.

The theme of this birthday was his love for BOOKS!
I set up a scavenger hunt game which relied on his memory of book quotes as well as riddles.
Here are a few of the riddles...try your hand at it.

(answer: music book)

(answer: Bible - this is our marriage verse)

(answer: DICTIONARY!)

That was just a few. There were about 20 clues in all. I am proud to say that I did stump him but it was all in fun.
They lead up to his birthday gift....

A Kindle! Doesn't he look happy?

For his birthday dinner, he chose pizza and finished with cake.
I made his favorite, angel food cake, which was an experience...and decorated it as the "lego guy" in memory of his childhood :)

Happy Birthday Husband

Today is Neil's 24th Birthday! I know he does not like to be the center of attention (ex. balloon story below) but a little Birthday Blog won't hurt.

happy birthday to you - and many more, old man! It is great to be able to spend a whole day celebrating YOU! I love you.
Thank you for all your phone calls, cards, and messages too.

Balloon Story:
for his birthday I decided to surprise him with lunch from his favorite restaurant but I couldnt stop there so I brought him cupcakes and balloons. We ate our lunch and then.....he stuffed the balloons in the closet and left them there for the rest of the day, so no one would know it was his birthday.

please excuse this picture, Neil decided to make funny faces for EVERY picture so this is the best one. We celebrated at home with a birthday cake, pizza and presents. And you can't forget the birthday hat!

24th Birthday

I had a great birthday! We were able to spend it with my family in San Antonio. I also recieved so many birthday cards and gifts in the mail and they ALL made it ON MY DAY! Good job! Overall I felt so loved and I am very thankful for all the love in my life.

Neil surprised me with his gift. It was so thoughtful. He got me like 10 cards (all reminding me that I am an old lady compared to him), a birthday girl tiara, and a SET OF ROCKING CHAIRS to grow old in together.

(notice the wrapping paper...cute)

all the cards.

The rocking chairs have to be put together so I'll post when they are done.
