The Science Mill

The second day was pretty cold so we found a kids museum about 25 minutes away. It was called the Science Mill and it was perfect!

There was something for everyone.
Marco LOVED this particular fish tank!
 Lots of science experiements.

 Some building and playing outside.
That silver hand in the back was kinda cool. You could move the fingers into different positions.

It was the perfect way to spend the day. It's in a small town so it didn't feel packed at all.
We headed back to the campsite and did some scavenger hunts, wagon rides, playground, etc.

Spring Break 2019 - Enchanted Rock.

This is the first year that Neil and I are both off the same week for Spring Break.
We have a lot of trips planned coming up so we decided to go low key. We stayed home for the first part of the week. We did "normal" things.

target runs.
Reyna LOVES their big pretzels.
We hit up the museum and Steel Pops.
This one is just too cute to miss. He loves baths!

Then we met my parents in Fredericksburg, TX for a little camping and hiking. The weather was a little bit cold so we bundled up.
 Played lots of games.

This is the top of the Rock we climbed.
I did come prepared with a fanny pack for Reyna with a scavenger hunt and a kids camera but she didn't even need it!
Luckly, we borrowed this hiking pack for the trip.
Marco must have like it because he was very quiet the whole way.
On this trip we learned that Reyna is a little adventurer. She loved the climbing sections and wanted to play hide-n-seek which was terrifying!

This trail was straight to the top so it was very steep in some sections and it is a huge granite rock so it was pretty bare and slick in many places.
She didn't stop once, so we didn't either!
This was the marking at the very tip.

We hit the top and took a peek around. The wind was pretty strong so we headed back down.
Reyna explored every formation she could.

We did let Marco down at the end. I'm sure he'll be running along side his sister the next time!

It was so fun to see her joy and love for adventure. It certainly encouraged me to plan more hiking trips in the future. I know she will remember this hike. To be honest, she never seemed intimidated either. even at the base, looking up and this mountain and seeing tiny specks of people, she never thought it was difficult. I'm sure she would have gone longer but her legs did hurt that night and she slept well.

Neil and I went back the next day for a run. We went on different trails this time. He got lost on his because part of it was closed but it was a running trail. I basically went rock climbing the whole way. I think Reyna would have loved it. I was kinda regretting not bringing her. We had decided to leave the kids because it was 43 degrees when we left.
I ran to the small lake and turned around.
It was a good, quick run.
Hiking in Texas in March is perfect!

i'm baaaackkk!

Wow! Its been awhile!
Life has just been so crazy!
In the meantime, I have used Instagram as my record keeping because that is quick and fun but there is so much more I want to remember.
