5 months.

This month has flown by!
We spend less time together but we have surely grown so much together this month.

She started day care. She sleeps all night. In her crib! She naps well, too. She has found her thumb which soothes her to sleep. She is rolling over and lifting her chest high up off the ground.
Watching her meet new challenges is so fun.
I can't wait to see what happens this month!

Luna's Bow-tique

This weekend Reyna and I celebrated the newest addition to the family. Little Luna is due November 1st so we went down to celebrate! We helped decorate.

We ran wrapping paper down the middle of each table and set out the decorations.

My mom made these cute centerpieces. Here is a closer look.

 Popcorn party favors.

My contribution was Luna's Bow-tique.
The table was set up with ribbon, flowers, fabric, buttons, etc with elastic headbands.
Everyone made their own headband for baby.
I wish I would have taken a picture of the finished products - so creative!

Reyna in her party dress.

The hosts.

It was great to see family again - some for the first time.
But it was all about LUNA (I love that name)! Can't wait to meet her!

Sic 'em Reyna!

The second game of the season and Reyna got to see the Bears!
It was cool weather and we had already bought headphones for her and since we had family with us, we had a few extra hands. Here she is ready to cheer on the Bears.

That 5,000 sq ft. screen had her attention for a bit!

Our first family picture with the new stadium!

Those headphone worked wonders. Through fireworks, cheering, and music, she was never phased.
She napped and ate on schedule.  I know we are pushing our luck but we are thankful for the experience.

Both Worlds.

I have always known that I would be a working mom.
I love my job, but that did not make it any easier to start working.
I tried to ease my way into it. Having Neil bring her for lunch last week, having a sitter for a couple of hours. Mom watched her for 6 hours while we went to the football game on Sunday.

Today was the first day a daycare and I just couldn't do it.
Neil dropped her off.
I picked her up, thinking she would greet me with smiles and cuddles.
WRONG.
She just look at me desperately. I tried to put her in the carseat but she just screamed!
Could it be that she just wanted to be held? I don't know but I held her anyways.
The care takers said she slept for 20 minutes the whole day!
I pushed her in the stroller around the mall and she fell asleep pronto! I wanted her to keep sleeping so I pushed. and pushed. and pushed for 1.5 hours. I don't know what the answers are so as we figure all of this out I'm just writing to ask for your prayers for peace.

It seems she just wants to be held.
She wakes up during the night not to eat.
She hates her crib. Tolerates the bassinet (which she is growing out of) and loves our bed.
So many contradictary ideas run thorough my mind.
    Let her self soothe.
How dare you let her cry it out.
Nursing in your bed is fine.
She should be in her crib by now.
She needs to fall asleep on her own.
It's too quiet when she naps. Why can't she nap at daycare? (duh)

I'm not sure there is a right answer and every family is different. My decisions are based on two ideas.I want to be able to do my job well and I want to parent well, too!

So please, prayers - or advise.
(I am not offended by advise as long as you are not offended if I don't take it)

4 months.

She woke up one morning and she was a big girl!
She has matured so quickly.
Her expressions are so very real and she has opinions! Imagine that...

This months brings us back to work/school. We will surely be adjusting to your time with this sweetie.
She is wearing 6 months clothes and is sleeping well through the night.
